August Bank Holiday in Pembrokeshire

What a fabulous trip Arden Divers had to Pembrokeshire over the August Bank Holiday weekend! We dived on Celtic Discovery with the excellent Pembrokeshire Boat Charters with skipper Dave and crew Richard. We enjoyed wonderful weather, but some rather brisk currents as we hit the August new moon and spring

tides! The greatest achievement of the weekend has to go to Will Broughton who did a fabulous job of Dive Managing day 2 and completed his Dive Leader course, did his 250th dive, his 40 meter depth progression and first sea deco dive! Congratulations Will! What a day that was!

We had three full days diving and visited some great sites including The Lucy, Hen and Chicks, Stack Rock and Rye Rocks. The Lucy ticked the boxes for our techie members, Chris, Alastair and Josh, who could practice their accelerated decompression skills, and Will who had a long deco stop and is now determined to do ADP! Rye Rocks presented the rest of the group with an ‘escape the kelp’ challenge with Denise and Steph discovering  the uses of a lovely sea fan for navigation purposes. Sarah and Sophie laughed so much during their dives that they spent most of the time clearing their masks, Angie led the trigger fish hunt and Simon made sure everyone was happy. It was great to be joined by our old friends Alex and Myla and hear about their adventures since they moved away from Warwickshire to Wiltshire.

We had fun out of the water too with a wonderful beach picnic on day one. This involved a lot of work for our trip organiser Alastair who probably felt that a basket of hungry kittens would be easier to herd than this group of divers, determined to be on a beach! Thank you Alastair- the picnic and the whole trip were greatly enjoyed and appreciated by everyone!
